Covid 19 health safety
In light of COVID-19 and the very real risk it poses to the community, Winterwares is implementing a variety of measures to help protect the health and well-being of our staff and our customers. In an effort to keep you; our customers and friends informed, we’ve put together the following information that details the measures the studio is putting in place, from now until the foreseeable future.
Until further notice, our ceramics studio is still in operation and we are fulfilling online orders. We want to ensure you that we will continue to do so for as long as it is still safe and allowed under the Government guidelines.
We’ve always and are continuing to follow common hygiene practises at home and at the studio. We deem this vital to help us (and you) stay healthy. The following practices have been increased in light of COVID-19:
- Frequently washing and sanitising our hands for at least 20 seconds.
- Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects which include but are not limited to phones, laptops, equipment, tools, surfaces and door handles.
- Packaging and handling all orders with gloves.
- Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue/inner elbow.
- Social distancing where and when possible.
Studio Visits & Meetings
Whilst we aren’t required by law, the Winterwares studio is closed to the public effective immediately. We feel it’s vitally important to socially distance ourselves as much as possible and wholeheartedly take on this responsibility to maintain the well-being of our community.
While this is heartbreaking to do (we love seeing you), we still want to make your experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible, from start to finish. So with that in mind, we’re more than happy to chat over the phone and we’re always contactable via email.
We aren’t teaching in-person workshops until further notice. As soon as it’s safe to do so, we will be returning to the studio to teach mindful making workshops. We think that now more than ever people need a mental break from stress.
We have created ‘clay at home’ kits for you to make your own ceramic cup at home, we’ll send you the clay and the tools and a video tutorial and you can make your cup in your living room in your PJs!
If you have a workshop gift voucher, don’t worry, it’s valid for three years from when it was purchased.
We’re offering a ‘click and collect’ for local pick up orders. We will wrap and label your order and it will be available to pick up from Stacked Café, they’re in the same building as our studio. They’re open 7am to 2pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Due to potential surface contamination from dispatch to delivery, please exercise caution and common hygiene practices when handling your delivered order. Please wash your ceramics before first use. You can wash them in the dishwasher if you have one.
If you have any concerns or questions in regards to the shipping and handling of your order, please get in touch.
Lastly, these are unprecedented times for small businesses and we fully understand the hardships others may be facing. We wholeheartedly hope you’ll continue to support our studio and other small businesses, helping us keep on keeping on with our livelihoods and sharing our gifts with the world.
Where there’s suffering I have to believe that there’s some meaning to gain from it. I have to focus on the good and the potential for growth and compassion. Even on the hardest of days, there’s joy, beauty and comfort to be found.
I think that every experience we have is an opportunity to learn, especially the events and people that make us fearful, angry and annoyed. There are situations in life that we have no control over, but we do have control over our thoughts and our reactions.
On my blog I’ve written about how we can build emotional resilience in the face of challenges.
Above all else, stay connected, be well and take care. Big love to you and yours.
