Bircher muesli with toasted walnuts, figs and chia seeds

Bircher muesli is so simple to make and gives you that feeling of love in a bowl. It's delicious with whatever fruit is in season, right now it's figs, but you could top it with stone fruits, pears or apples. Made with toasted nuts, milk and oats. Just whip up the night before, place in the refrigerator and you have breakfast waiting for you in the morning.


  • 3/4 cup milk (or nut milk)
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1½ tsp vanilla bean powder
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 2 fresh figs
  • 1/2 cup of walnuts


  1. In a medium bowl combine oats, chia seeds, vanilla, milk, cinnamon
  2. Cover and refrigerate to soak overnight
  3. Serve topped with diced figs and toasted walnuts, add a little more milk if desired
