Smoothie bowls are one of those great recipes that you can modify to your hearts content.
Make a tropical version with frozen mango and coconut milk. Or blend a base of berries with natural yogurt.
Granola, toasted nuts and sliced fresh fruit are all moreish toppings. As long as your base smoothie is made with frozen fruit it will be a success.
For the smoothie
- 1/2 avocado
- 4 tablespoons cacao powder
- 1 cup frozen banana
- 1 teaspoon raw honey
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup almond milk
For the toppings
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
- 3 tablespoons coconut flakes
- 2 tablespoons sweet cacao nibs
Put all the smoothie ingredients into a high speed blender and mix until smooth and thick. Spoon into an everyday bowl and sprinkle your toppings on.
