Our kanso plate is the perfect size for a generous breakfast or a modest dinner. It’s slightly smaller than the original dinner plate. Use it for brunch for a slice of banana bread topped with walnuts, cream and honey or for taco night at home with the family.
Kanso is a Japanese concept that describes the understated beauty that we see in simplicity. It’s a reminder to make space for the things that bring us joy when we use them. The kanso plate sits comfortably between the dinner and fika plate.

Yes! Winterwares ceramics are designed to withstand daily use, even in restaurant settings where they endure the rigors of industrial dishwashers day in and day out. Not only dishwasher safe – you can put them in the microwave and oven. Learn more.
If our ceramics are labeled as in stock, they will be shipped to you within 3 – 5 business days. If they’re marked as out of stock, we will make them for you. Crafting ceramics is a Labour of love that takes time. It's a minimum of four weeks, but during busy times like the lead-up to Christmas, you might have to hang tight a little longer. But remember, each piece is handmade with care right here in Fremantle, Western Australia, and we guarantee they'll be well worth the wait!

I was so torn on which side plate to order, but for our family the Kanso is perfect side plate size.
My family and I are enjoying our new Kanso Plates, not only are they individually hand crafted and therefore beautifully imperfect, but also sturdy and practical.
